How To Set-Up 10 Digit Dialing
For Windows 3.1 & 3.11
(Shiva Dialer)
1. From the Program Manager, slide your mouse pointer
over the "Microsoft Internet Explorer" program group (refer to image below) and
double-click with the left mouse button. The "Microsoft Internet Explorer"
window will appear.

2. Slide your mouse pointer over the "Internet
Texoma Explorer" icon inside the "Microsoft Internet Explorer" window
(refer to image below) and double-click with the left mouse button. This will open
the "Connect To" window.

3. Slide your mouse pointer over the "Properties"
button (towards the bottom, in between the "Connect" and "Close"buttons)
and single-click with the left mouse button. The "Connection Properties" window
will appear.
4. At the top of the window, you will see four
tabs. Slide your mouse pointer over the "General" tab (at the top, far
left) and single-click with the left mouse button. The "General" tab will move
to the front.

5. Slide your mouse pointer over the "X
Box" to the left of "Use country code and area code" and single-click until
there is not a check. Refer to the image above for guidance if necessary.
6. In the "Telephone Number" entry
box (the white box below the words "Telephone Number") is the phone
number the computer dials to connect to the Internet. The number should be one of Internet
Texoma's modem pool numbers (refer to the phone numbers below for guidance if necessary).
If the number is not one of ours, slide your mouse pointer over the entry box and
single-click with the left mouse button. Type in the number that is a local call for you. Note:
If your phone company requires ten digit dialing, you will need to place the area code in
the "Telephone Number" entry box in front of the phone number. Refer
to the image above for guidance if necessary.

7. Slide your mouse pointer over the "OK"
button and single-click with the left mouse button. The "Connection Properties"
window will disappear and the "Connect To" window will reappear.

8. Your dial-up connection settings are now set.
Repeat the above steps for each of the Internet Texoma connections you may have. |
