How To Disconnect From The Internet For Windows 95

Note: The following instructions for Windows 95 Dial-Up Networking are designed for Dial-Up Networking Version 1.2.  If you have an older version of Dial-Up Networking, these instructions may still be used for some guidance in disconnecting from the internet.

1.  Close the program you are using with the Internet (browser, e-mail client, news reader, FTP, ICQ, etc.).

2.  From the desktop, slide your mouse pointer over the connection icon (lower right hand corner, near the clock and looks like ) and double-click with the left mouse button.  The "Connected to Internet Texoma" window will appear.

3.  Slide your mouse pointer over the "Disconnect" button and single-click with the left mouse button.  Your modem will disconnect from the Internet.

4.  You have just ended your connection to the Internet.
