How To Disable Auto Disconnect
For Internet Explorer 4.0
1. From the desktop, slide your mouse pointer over
the "Start" button (most often in the lower left corner of the screen) and
single-click with the left mouse button. The "Start" menu will appear.
2. Slide your mouse pointer over the word "Settings".
A side menu will appear.
3. Slide your mouse pointer over the words "Control
Panel" and single-click with the left mouse button. The "Control Panel"
window will appear.
4. Slide your mouse pointer over the
"Internet" icon (the icons are in alphabetical order) and double-click with the
left mouse button. The "Internet Properties" window will appear.
5. There will be six tabs at the top of the
window. Slide your mouse pointer over the "Connection" tab and
single-click with the left mouse button. The "Connection" tab will move to the
front.

6. Slide your mouse pointer over the bullet (small
white circle) to the left of "Connect to the Internet using a modem" and
single-click with the left mouse button until there is a black dot in it.
7. Slide your mouse pointer over the "Settings..."
button and single-click with the left mouse button. The "Dial-Up Settings"
window will appear.

8. Slide your mouse pointer over the check box (small
white square) to the left of "Disconnect if idle for __ minutes" and
single-click with the left mouse button until there is not a black check in it.
9. Slide your mouse pointer over the "OK"
button (at the bottom of the window) and single-click with the left mouse button. The
"Dial-Up Settings" window will disappear.
10. Slide your mouse pointer over the "Apply"
button (at the bottom of the window) and single-click with the left mouse button.
11. Slide your mouse pointer over the "OK"
button (at the bottom of the window) and single-click with the left mouse button. The
"Internet Properties" window will disappear.
12. Close the control panel.
13. The auto disconnect feature in Internet Explorer
is now disabled. Note: This will keep your computer from automatically
disconnecting from the Internet if you are idle. Internet Texoma will disconnect
your connection to the server if there is no activity for 30 minutes. We do this to keep
unused lines free for other customers.
