How to configure Windows 2000 for ten digit dialing.1. Click on Start-->Settings-->Network and Dial-up Connections. 2. Right click on your dial-up connection and hit the Properties menu option.
3. Ensure that the box labeled "Use dialing rules" is unchecked, then add the area code to the beginning of the number under "Phone number". Dashes are optional.
