How To Clear Netscape Communicator's Cache Files

Note: The following instructions for Netscape Communicator are designed for Netscape Communicator Version 4.04.  If you have an older version of Netscape Communicator, these instructions may still be used for some guidance in checking your settings.

1.  From inside Netscape Communicator, slide your mouse pointer over the word "Edit" (upper left corner, in between "File" and "View") and single-click with your left mouse button.  A drop-down menu will appear.

2.  Slide your mouse pointer over the word "Preferences..." (the last entry) and single-click with the left mouse button.  The "Preferences" window will appear.

3.  Slide your mouse pointer over the word "Advanced" (in the "Category:" entry box) and double-click with the left mouse button until the tree is extended.

4.  Slide your mouse pointer over the word "Cache" (inside the "Category:" entry box, below "Advanced" and above "Proxies") and single-click with the left mouse button. "Cache" will become highlighted.
