Modem Manufacturers' Test Numbers
Several modem manufacturers now have test facilities you can call to determine if a
problem you are experiencing is with your telephone line. If you would like to test
your modem's connectivity, the following numbers are available to you. It is best to
try to use your own modem manufacture's BBS. If it is not listed, then most
manufacturers recommend using the USRobotics/3Com BBS. Connecting to these numbers
using HyperTerminal will allow you to test your modem's speed without utilizing any
Internet Texoma equipment or connections. This will help determine where the
connectivity problem originates.
