How To Set Up Windows 98
Using The Internet Connection Wizard
The following instructions are for the Microsoft Internet Connection Wizard
delivered with Windows 98. If you have a different version of the Microsoft Internet
Connection Wizard, you may still use these instructions for guidance.
1. From the desktop, slide your mouse pointer over
the "Start" button (often in the lower left corner of the screen) and
single-click with the left mouse button. The "Start" menu will appear.
2. Slide your mouse pointer over the word "Programs"
and single-click with the left mouse button. A side menu will appear.
3. Slide your mouse pointer over the words
"Internet Explorer" and single-click with the left mouse button. A side menu
will appear.
4. Slide your mouse pointer over the words
"Connection Wizard" and single-click with the left mouse button. The Internet
Connection Wizard will start.

5. Slide your mouse pointer over the bullet (the
small white circle) to the left of the line "I have an existing Internet
account through my phone line or a local area network (LAN). Help me set up my computer to
connect to this Internet account," and click with the left mouse button until there
is a black dot inside the white circle. Refer to the image above for guidance if
necessary.
6. Slide your mouse pointer over the Next
> button (next to the "Cancel" button) and single-click with the left
mouse button. The screen will change.

7. Slide your mouse pointer over the bullet (the
small white circle) to the left of the line "Select this option if you are accessing
the Internet using an Internet service provider or local area network (LAN)," and
click with the left mouse button until there is a black dot inside the white circle. Refer
to the image above for guidance if necessary.
8. Slide your mouse pointer over the Next
> button (in between the "< Back" and "Cancel"
buttons) and single-click with the left mouse button. The screen will change.
